Her marriage record lists her as from Milton, Chittenden Co, VT. She had brothers Nathan and Reuben. Charlotte received $8.00 a month widow's pension, Certificate # 11,308 beginning November 2, 1878.
She was living with her son, Anson for the 1880 census at age 84. She lived to the age of 86, quite old for a woman born in the late 1700's.
After her death, sons Wallace and James posted notice on December 26, 1883 requesting all claims against the estate be submitted by the following July 1st. A full 5 years later...

Y.; William Hill, of Segal, Wisconsin; Sophia Beverly, of Ayers Mass.: Egbert Hill, of Latimer, Iowa, Talbert Hill of Tama, Iowa; Adeline Fisk, of Palmer, Kansas Albert Hill, of Brockville, Maine; Wyman Hill and Walter Hill, of Des Moines, Iowa; Florence Hill and Cassie Hill, of Holyoke, Massachusetts; William Armstrong and Otis Armstrong, whose place of residence are unknown; and Irvin Fenton and Mabel Fenton, of Clay Centre, Kansas, and to all other persons interested in the estate of Charlotte Hill, late of the town of Chateaugay, in the County of Franklin, and State of New York, deceased, as creditors, next of kin or otherwise, send greeting:
You, and each of you, are hereby cited and required personally to be and appear before our Surrogate of the County of Franklin, at his office, in the Court House, in the village of Malone, on the 3d day of June, 1889, at ten o'clock in the forenoon of that day, then and there to attend the judicial settlement of the accounts of Wallace Hill and James Hill, as administrators of the goods, chattels and credits of Charlotte Hill, deceased.
And if any of the persons interested be under the age of twenty-one years, they are required to appear by their guardian, lf they have one, and if they have none, to appear and apply for one to be appointed, or in the event of their neglect or failure to do so, a guardian will be appointed by the Surrogate to represent and act for them in the proceeding.
In testimony whereof, we have caused the seal of our said Surrogate's Court to be hereunto affixed.
